Christian & Daddy

Christian loves his Daddy.  Loves, loves him.  Everyone use to say that Christian looked just like his Mommy, but I think the older he gets the more he looks like his Dad.  What do you think?

 Christian is all shocked...what are you doing taking a picture of me?? Angelo is just happy to be on the couch.

When Chris gets home Christian just lights up.  He usually has a meltdown from 5 to 6pm, and Chris gets home right when its over and the sun comes back out (lucky).  Then its all smiles and laughing when he sees his dad.  Chris is really great with him, throws him around and makes crazy faces at him. He lets Christian grab his nose (which he does All. The. Time) even though it hurts, he walks him around until he falls asleep when his teeth are hurting him, and he gets up at night and puts his paci back in when he cries. 

Christian says he pretty much rocks :)

I agree.

 Now he's wondering if it was Dad's idea to take these pictures :)

So sweet. I think he looks a lot like Chris in this one.  My nose, but the rest, Chris.

Oh and the best thing about dad? I'd vote for his stellar diaper changing abilities...

The material for the curtains is here!!!!!

Like my model I got to hold them up? :) They are super bright and I just love them. Love love. The guy at the fabric store said, "wow this is bright material...what's your project?" and I told him curtains for my babies room. He gave me the, oh, wow, oh, look, and so I had tell him at my house we go bold or we don't go at all, dang it. He needs to come see my living room. :)

Anyway it looks great...I know what I'm doing here :)

We did a little baby shopping last week, allow me to show you some of our fun buys. After I put the picture of those Pumas up in the last post, Chris had to get our little guy some. Had to. I'm telling you he has a soft spot in his heart for tiny Pumas and mini Timberland boots. Cause my husband usually wants to know how much it is first, then we'll discuss the cute factor later, but not this time. :) Here are the Pumas we got, and below is the Timberland boots Christian will get as soon as he can walk (according to his dad :)



I also found this canvas of blue and brown numbers at Marshall's and thought it would look great over the chair. I wanted to bring in some elements that weren't animals and I thought this was cute and a great size for where I wanted to put it. Plus the colors are right on. Carrying around these paint swatches has totally paid off.

More pictures to come when I get the curtains made (tomorrow!), and my model here gets the curtain rods and canvas hung (soon Chris? pretty please?). Its coming together people. I cannot wait to open the door and just see it done. I've been envisioning it for so long and its really starting to take form. If I have any material left, I'm going to try and cut a silhouette of an animal out and sew it onto a white pillow (since I can't find the exact one I want...) We'll see how much time I have left. Or maybe I'll spell out his initials (if we ever give him a middle name..)

Prime, Paint, Repeat

Chris is at home today painting the babies room. I am SO excited. I'm even going home at lunch to see how far he's come and so we can decide how high to put the orange line of paint.

I am going to try and snap a few pictures tonight when he gets more done so you can see. I cannot wait for the paint to go up on the walls. When he is done with the painting we are going to start moving in the chair and hanging things up on the walls. Then all we'll have to wait for is the furniture to show up, and the fabrics....

I am having some serious trouble finding fabric. All the fabric I've found that is fun, and not too babyish (I'm sorry but I am not making these curtains for fun :) they gotta last for a little while) is Blue and Green. Green? I don't need green...I need blue and orange. Its like every cool print is with green. I'm not getting it. See?

How cute is this? Adorable. But Green. The blue isn't perfect but I could work with it, but the lack of orange is just not going to work.

Let me know if you spot anything. I'll post a few in the style I'm looking for...

A Guest Post by Dad

Hi everybody, it’s about time that I do my part and write a post. Nicole has been doing a great job keeping you all informed of her pregnancy. I'm gonna tell you all what my experience has been thus far and what I have learned as a new-dad-to-be.

1) First off, it’s a lot fun to tell everyone the good news. I've never seen more smiles or heard more joy in my parent’s voices than when we told them about the baby. I'm sure not everyone gets to experience a fun phone call like that (like those kids on MTV's 16 and Pregnant) but just about everyone is excited about a new baby.

2) Its like taking High School health class all over again. Quick: What's the difference between the placenta and the amniotic sac? How early can you detect a fetal heartbeat? I feel like I'm half way to being done with med school.
But it’s cool though. All this new anatomy knowledge just makes this experience that much more miraculous! The complexity and elegance of creating a new person makes you scratch your head in amazement. Thanks be to God.

3) .....as amazing as a new baby is, it can be kind of unexciting at the same time. Even going to the doctor doesn't seem like a big deal. If they don't find anything abnormal, they don't really need to see you. Take a few measurements, give Nicole a once over and you're out the door. I'm sure Nicole might say otherwise, but making a baby seems pretty easy. Bake on 98.6 degrees for 9 months......call me when the timer goes off (only half-kidding Cola :)).

4. I'm pumped to be a new father. I get to decide the kid's name, I’ll have a say in how s/he dresses and get to raise him the way I think a kid should be raised. A few of our friends have had kids recently and it has gotten me really excited about having one of my own. It will be cool to have a little Chris (or Christina) running around here.

5. Everyone tells me that my life is going to be turned upside down come February. I can only half-imagine the work it takes to raise a child, so I’m sure my mind will be blown when the time comes. But that’s in February. For right now…..Nicole and I are going to enjoy this time in our life. It’s the last time it will be just the two of us. We have some trips planned to see family and friends which will be great and in between traveling we will be kicking it here with G_Lo enjoying our home and getting ready for baby.
